Srinagar, Jun 3 : The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday conducted searches at eight locations across six districts of Kashmir Valley in connection with a decade-old case linked to Pakistan-sponsored terror networks, sleeper cells, and radicalisation activities.
Officials said the searches were carried out in connection with FIR No. 02/2015 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under provisions of the Foreigners Act, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Arms Act.
According to officials, the raids were launched following fresh intelligence inputs, technical analysis, and sustained investigation. Search operations were conducted at two locations each in Srinagar and Bandipora, and one location each in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Sopore in Baramulla district.
The suspects are allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based terror handlers through encrypted communication platforms and are suspected of spreading extremist propaganda, facilitating radicalisation, and supporting terror-related activities.
Officials said the searches aim to recover incriminating material, establish terror linkages, identify associates, facilitators and overground workers (OGWs), and gather actionable intelligence to advance the investigation.
All necessary legal formalities, including obtaining search warrants from the competent court, were completed before the operations, officials said, adding that the searches were being conducted in accordance with established legal procedures and under adequate security arrangements.
