KARGIL : Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon on Thursday inspected the ongoing road construction and widening works in Sankoo and directed officials to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining prescribed quality standards.
During the inspection, Dr. Akhoon assessed the progress of the works on the ground and reviewed various aspects of the project aimed at improving road connectivity in the area.
Councillor Sankoo, Agha Ahmad Rizvi, accompanied the CEC during the visit. Also present were Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sankoo, revenue officials, engineers from SVD Sankoo and NHIDCL, Incharge Police Post Sankoo, and representatives of the executing agency, Top Line Agency.
Taking stock of the construction and widening works, Dr. Akhoon instructed the concerned departments to identify and address all bottlenecks affecting the smooth execution of the project. He emphasised that the prescribed road width of 40 feet must be maintained throughout the stretch and directed officials not to allow any deviation from the approved specifications.
The CEC also stressed the importance of ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project guidelines to facilitate long-term benefits for the public.
During the inspection, Dr. Akhoon directed the SDM Sankoo to take prompt measures to address issues faced by residents due to the ongoing construction activities. He called for effective coordination among all stakeholders to minimise inconvenience to the public and ensure smooth implementation of the project.
The inspection forms part of the LAHDC Kargil administration’s efforts to monitor infrastructure projects and expedite developmental works across the district.
