Srinagar, July 8 : A dramatic video of a vehicle slipping and rolling down a steep mountainside at Jammu and Kashmir’s Razdan Pass has surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as all occupants had stepped out of the vehicle before the accident occurred, officials said.
The incident took place at the high-altitude Razdan Pass in Bandipora district, a vital mountain route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the remote Gurez Valley.
According to officials, the vehicle lost control and accidentally slipped before tumbling down a deep gorge. The video shows the car rolling over the rocky terrain before coming to a stop at a considerable distance below. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the fall.
Officials confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the mishap, preventing any loss of life or injuries.
Following the incident, authorities advised motorists travelling through mountainous areas to exercise caution, especially on steep stretches and during adverse weather conditions, when roads can become hazardous.
