Jammu, Jul 31: A delegation of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh convened a meeting with the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh at the Circuit House today. The delegation conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the Lieutenant Governor on assuming office, while also presenting a comprehensive overview of the organization’s outreach programs and advocacy campaigns spanning both Union Territories.
Dr. Vivek Sharma, President of BTSM for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, led the delegation. During the interaction, Dr. Sharma underscored the organization’s enduring dedication to fostering Indo-Tibetan cultural bonds, amplifying awareness regarding the Tibetan struggle for autonomy, and advancing the universal ideals of peace, compassion, and non-violence championed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Among the prominent attendees were Rajinder Sadotra, General Secretary of BTSM J\&K UT; Dr. Judvir Singh; Dr. Vikrant Singh; Dr. Mukesh Sharma; Ms. Kamini Chopra; Vishal Sharma; Dr. Charanjeet Singh, along with other committed members. The delegation explored avenues for expanding the organization’s activities within Ladakh, with particular emphasis on youth engagement, academic partnerships, and cultural education.
The Lieutenant Governor welcomed the visit and acknowledged the relevance of grassroots initiatives aimed at cultural preservation and the enhancement of civil society interactions between India and Tibet. He conveyed encouragement for BTSM’s efforts to cultivate mutual understanding and promote regional peace through cultural and humanitarian engagement.
The dialogue concluded with a shared resolve to intensify collaborative endeavors in support of the Tibetan cause while nurturing harmony, cultural resilience, and inter-regional solidarity throughout the Himalayan belt.
