Jammu: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir State General Secretary Gopal Mahajan (Palak of Media Department), along with State General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria, reviewed the functioning and activities of the party’s Print Media Department during a meeting held at the party headquarters in Jammu.
BJP State Secretary Pawan Sharma, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, party spokespersons Balbir Ram Rattan and Vikram Malhotra, and media team members Sanjay Bakshi and Rohin Chandan attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Gopal Mahajan sought details regarding the day-to-day working of the Media Department, including the preparation and circulation of press releases, coordination with newspapers and electronic media, coverage of party programmes and communication of the party’s policies and activities to the general public.
Gopal Mahajan said that the Media Department plays a very important role in strengthening communication between the party and the people. He said that timely, accurate and effective communication is essential to highlight the party’s programmes, achievements, public welfare initiatives and stand on important issues.
He stressed the need for better coordination among spokespersons, media team members and party leaders to ensure that the party’s message reaches every section of society.
Mahajan said that the media team should remain active, alert and well-informed about political developments, public issues and organisational activities. He also emphasised maintaining regular contact with media houses and responding promptly to important developments.
Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria also shared their views on improving media coordination and ensuring wider publicity for organisational programmes and public welfare activities.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra briefed the meeting about the regular functioning of the Media Department, preparation of press releases, media coverage of party events, coordination with journalists and efforts being made to communicate the party’s views on various issues.
He also explained the responsibilities assigned to different team members and the steps being taken to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the department.
The meeting also discussed ways to further strengthen communication with media persons and ensure timely reporting of important party activities.
