NEW DELHI, Feb 21: BJP workers took to streets from Jammu to Mumbai Saturday, protesting Congress’ Youth wing’s disruptive “shirtless” demonstration at the India AI Impact Summit that drew global ridicule.
Four Indian Youth Congress (IYC) activists were detained after storming Bharat Mandapam Friday, stripping off outer layers to reveal anti-Modi/Trump T-shirts with slogans like “India-US Trade Deal” and “PM Compromised.” They chanted against PM Modi amid international delegates at the high-profile tech event.
Delhi Police confirmed the planned breach in Exhibition Hall No. 5; security swiftly intervened. BJP slammed it as “topless, brainless, shameless” sabotage of India’s global image, with leaders like Sambit Patra and Amit Malviya blaming Rahul Gandhi.
Congress defended the protest as voicing concerns over the recent US trade deal. BJP’s Rajnath Singh and Shivraj Chouhan called it “treasonous,” sparking protests demanding apology.
