KARGIL: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ladakh, on Sunday concluded its month-long Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Mega Training Campaign-2026, with nearly 500 party workers receiving training across seven organisational districts of the Union Territory in what the party described as a major organisational capacity-building exercise.
The campaign, launched on May 2, culminated with district-level training programmes in Kargil and Drass. Conducted in a residential format, the programme brought together district office bearers, elected representatives, morcha functionaries, mandal presidents and grassroots workers for sessions focused on ideological orientation, organisational development and public outreach.
The concluding session in Kargil was addressed by BJP Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, while BJP Ladakh President Tashi Gyalson Khachu addressed both the inaugural session in Kargil and the valedictory programme in Drass.
According to party leaders, the training curriculum covered subjects ranging from the BJP’s ideological foundations and the principles of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya to leadership development, organisational functioning, media engagement, public communication and welfare initiatives being implemented by the Central Government and the Union Territory administration.
Addressing participants, senior leaders stressed the importance of a trained organisational structure and reiterated the party’s emphasis on grassroots engagement. They said party workers play a crucial role in strengthening public outreach, communicating policy initiatives and fostering constructive engagement with communities.
The campaign witnessed participation from senior BJP leaders, including Dr. Devender Kumar Manyal, State Training Convenor and North Zone In-Charge; Ajay Mahawar, MLA and Zonal Co-Convenor; former CEC Leh Adv. Tashi Gyalson; State Vice President Haji Anayat Ali; and District President BJP Kargil Asadullah Munchi.
Speaking on the completion of the campaign, Tashi Gyalson Khachu said the successful conduct of training programmes across all seven organisational districts reflected the party’s organisational reach and cadre commitment in Ladakh. He said the initiative would further strengthen the party’s grassroots network and organisational preparedness across the Union Territory.
The month-long exercise forms part of BJP Ladakh’s broader efforts to enhance organisational efficiency, strengthen cadre-based politics and prepare workers for expanded public engagement and political outreach in the region.
