Leh, Mar 29: The Ladakh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday appointed Rigzin Chubi as the Acting District President for Leh, marking a transition in the party’s district-level leadership.
The announcement was made by Tashi Gyaltsan Khachu, who extended his congratulations to Chubi and described the appointment as a reflection of his sustained organisational commitment and grassroots engagement.
Khachu noted that Chubi has played an active role in strengthening the party’s outreach and internal coordination in Leh district. He also acknowledged Chubi’s contributions in assisting the outgoing District President, Stanzin Chosphel, whose tenure, he said, helped consolidate the party’s base in the region.
The State President expressed confidence that the new leadership would ensure continuity while also bringing renewed focus to organisational priorities. He indicated that the party leadership in Ladakh would work in close coordination with Chubi to advance its programmes and expand its presence across the district.
The development comes at a time when political parties in Ladakh are recalibrating their district units amid evolving administrative and political dynamics in the Union Territory.
Chubi is expected to assume charge with immediate effect.
