Leh, Jul 10: In a proud moment for Ladakh and the global Buddhist community, Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh, has been named among the ‘25 Visionaries of the World 2025’, an international recognition awarded by the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD).
The official book launch event is scheduled to take place on 15th July 2025 at the prestigious Springkell Estate in Scotland, UK. The coffee table book, published by LOSD Publishing House, celebrates 25 individuals from across the globe whose visionary work has brought transformational change to communities, nations, and the world.
Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena is widely revered not only as a Buddhist monk and meditation teacher, but also as a humanitarian, social reformer, and ambassador of peace and compassion. Since founding the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) in Ladakh in 1986, he has tirelessly worked to uplift the lives of the underprivileged and marginalized, particularly in the remote Himalayan region.
His multifaceted initiatives span education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, environmental conservation, and spiritual development. Through MIMC, he has established schools, a charitable hospital, a nunnery, vocational training centres, elderly care facilities, and platforms for interfaith dialogue and peace advocacy.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s efforts have gained global recognition over the years. He has represented Indian Buddhism and Ladakh at numerous international conferences, United Nations forums, and interfaith gatherings, spreading the message of universal brotherhood and ethical living.
The “25 Visionaries of the World 2025” project identifies leaders across various domains—education, health, environment, spirituality, innovation, and humanitarianism—whose work is creating a meaningful impact beyond borders. Bhikkhu Sanghasena stands alongside other influential personalities in this elite list, reflecting the global relevance of his grassroots mission in Ladakh.
The LOSD initiative aims to document and disseminate inspirational stories to motivate future generations toward responsible and compassionate leadership. The launch event will witness participation from global dignitaries, thinkers, and social leaders.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s inclusion in this prestigious list is a testament to the spiritual richness and humanitarian spirit of Ladakh. His life exemplifies how one individual, rooted in spiritual discipline and compassion, can serve as a powerful agent of positive change.
As the world gathers to honour these 25 visionaries, Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s recognition serves as a reminder of the timeless relevance of Buddhist values in contemporary society—non-violence, compassion, inner peace, and service to humanity.
