Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jan 18: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat urged people to eliminate caste from their minds to eradicate caste-based discrimination from society.
Speaking at a public interaction during the RSS centenary celebrations in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Saturday, Bhagwat explained that caste was originally linked to professions but later became a source of social discrimination. Prant Sanghchalak Anil Bhalerao was also present on stage.
Bhagwat emphasized that true eradication requires honest removal of caste consciousness from the mind. “To end this discrimination, one must eradicate caste from the mind. If this is done honestly, caste discrimination will be eradicated within 10 to 12 years,” he stated.
Responding to audience questions, Bhagwat described the RSS’s mission as nation-building through individual character development. He clarified that the Sangh is not reactionary or competitive with any group.
“The Sangh aims to lead India to its ultimate glory along with the entire society. The Sangh does not want to become big itself; it wants to make society big,” he said. Bhagwat invited people to attend RSS shakhas to truly understand the organization.
