New Delhi, Dec 27: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s upcoming film “Battle of Galwan” will hit theatres on April 17, 2026, the makers announced Saturday on the actor’s 60th birthday.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia of “Shootout at Lokhandwala” fame, the film dramatizes the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese forces.
The makers unveiled a teaser showcasing Khan in the role of an Indian Army officer, portraying restrained intensity and commanding presence. Khan shared the teaser on his Instagram handle, generating buzz among fans.
Produced by Salma Khan under Salman Khan Films, the movie also stars Chitrangada Singh in a key role.
Salman described “Battle of Galwan” as one of the most physically taxing projects of his career.
“It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I’ve to give more time now for training. Earlier, I would do it in one or two weeks, now I’m running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that,” he explained.
The actor highlighted the additional challenges of shooting in Ladakh’s high-altitude terrain and frigid waters, noting the stark difference from his previous action film “Sikandar.”
“For instance, in ‘Sikandar’ the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water is another challenge,” Khan added.
His last release, “Sikandar,” directed by A R Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, premiered in March this year.
