Leh, Apr 15: Stob Shoogs and Dynamos RC progressed to the semi-finals of the Tokdan Rinpoche Tournament 2.0 after registering convincing victories in high-scoring quarter-final encounters at the NDS Ground on Tuesday.

Stob Shoogs secured a 50-run win over Chemsak in the opening match, while Dynamos RC followed with a 96-run triumph against Aryan Invaders, underlining the dominance of batting-friendly conditions at the venue.

The day’s play, marked by aggressive stroke-making and sizeable totals, also carried a deeper significance as the tournament continues its effort to honour journalists who are no longer alive, while extending support to their families—ensuring their contribution to the region’s sporting narrative is remembered.

Batting first, Stob Shoogs posted 226 for eight, driven by a commanding innings from Nasir Bashir, who struck 123 off 50 deliveries. His innings laid a solid foundation, with Stanzin Namras contributing 41 and Tsewang Tashi adding 33 to sustain a high scoring rate throughout the innings.

Chemsak’s bowling was led by Jamyang Tamchos, who claimed four wickets, but the attack struggled to contain the flow of runs. In reply, Chemsak failed to maintain the required momentum despite contributions from Namras (41), Tashi (33) and Stanzin Nubu (25). Regular wickets halted progress, and the innings concluded at 176 in 18.1 overs. Tamchos completed a notable all-round performance, while Mustafa and M Sharif Deen Ghori provided effective support with the ball.

In the second fixture, Dynamos RC produced an imposing total of 279 for seven after being put in to bat. Muneeb Malik led the innings with a rapid 85 off 36 balls, supported by Amjad (54) and Konchok Namgyal (52). Tsetan Namgyal added 48, as the batting line-up maintained a brisk scoring rate and capitalised on loose deliveries.

Aryan Invaders, chasing a steep target, managed 183 for nine in their allotted overs. Konchok Namgyal top-scored with 52, while Tashi Dawa contributed 41, but the side was unable to build sustained partnerships. Malik capped his performance with three wickets, and Feroz Ahmad added two to ensure control during the chase.

The quarter-final results reflect a consistent trend of high-scoring contests at the NDS Ground, with both successful teams demonstrating depth in batting and discipline in the latter stages with the ball.

With comprehensive victories behind them, Stob Shoogs and Dynamos RC move into the semi-finals carrying momentum, as the tournament advances while continuing its commitment to recognise the legacy of departed journalists and to assist their families in meaningful ways.
