LEH: Several flights operating to and from Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (KBR) Airport, Leh, were cancelled on Friday due to adverse weather conditions in Delhi, airport authorities confirmed. Despite the cancellations, airport operations in Leh remained smooth, with no unusual passenger rush or disruption reported.
According to official information, the affected flights included Air India services AI2463/2435 operating on the Delhi–Leh–Jammu sector and AI2436/2464 on the Jammu–Leh–Delhi sector. In addition, IndiGo flight 6E6571/2584 on the Delhi–Leh–Delhi route was also cancelled. The cancellations were attributed solely to bad weather conditions prevailing in the national capital, which impacted flight operations across multiple sectors.
Airport officials at KBR Airport stated that, even with the flight disruptions, passenger movement was well managed. “There was no congestion or rush at the terminal, and all operational activities were handled efficiently,” officials said, adding that coordination among airport staff, airlines, and security agencies ensured a smooth experience for passengers present at the airport.
Traffic data for December 19, 2025, indicates that normal operations continued for the remaining scheduled services. A total of four domestic flights arrived and four departed from KBR Airport during the day. Passenger movement stood at 591 arrivals and 671 departures, reflecting steady traffic despite the cancellations.
Authorities advised passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for real-time updates on flight schedules, especially during the winter season when weather-related disruptions are common. Meanwhile, KBR Airport officials reiterated their preparedness to manage operations efficiently even in challenging conditions.
