LEH: Demonstrating prompt response and a strong commitment to public safety, troops of the Forever in Operations Division successfully recovered a side-turned truck at Khangral in Ladakh during the night of 17 December 2025, ensuring the swift clearance of the National Highway and restoration of traffic movement.
The incident had temporarily disrupted vehicular movement on the strategically vital Kargil–Leh Axis, a key lifeline connecting Ladakh with the rest of the region.
Despite challenging night-time conditions, extreme cold, and difficult terrain, Army troops acted with speed and precision to manage the situation and prevent prolonged disruption.
Working in close coordination with Ladakh Police personnel from Khangral, the Army team secured the accident site, carried out the recovery operation efficiently, and ensured that traffic was restored at the earliest.
The coordinated effort helped avoid congestion and minimized inconvenience to commuters and transporters using the route.
The timely intervention not only ensured the safety of stranded motorists but also maintained uninterrupted connectivity on the strategic highway, which is crucial for civilian movement, logistics, and overall regional connectivity, especially during the harsh winter months.
Local authorities and commuters appreciated the swift and professional response of the Indian Army and Ladakh Police, noting that such coordinated actions play a vital role in ensuring safety and reliability on high-altitude roads.
The operation once again highlighted the Indian Army’s role beyond its primary security duties, showcasing its continued commitment to humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and support to civil administration in the challenging terrain of Ladakh.
