Mumbai, Apr 7: Tata Group-owned Air India’s CEO and MD Campbell Wilson has resigned, a source confirmed, just months after a deadly crash drew scrutiny.
Appointed in July 2022 after Ilker Ayci backed out amid controversy, Wilson steps down ahead of his five-year term ending in 2027. “He expressed his desire to resign and conveyed it to the Board,” the source said. Air India response is awaited.
The exit follows June 2024’s London-bound flight crash from Ahmedabad, which killed 241 of 242 aboard the Boeing 787-8. Tata had been scouting a successor earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Air India Express lacks a MD since Aloke Singh’s March departure after his five-year stint.
