Srinagar, April 3: All India Imam Organisation Chief Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi has said that the removal of Article 370 has brought about a “new Kashmir,” where the youth are now focused on education and careers rather than protest.
In a video statement from Srinagar, Ilyasi remarked: “After the removal of Article 370, there is a new Kashmir; earlier children used to throw stones, today they hold pens.” The comment is being viewed as a strong endorsement of the post‑370 development narrative in Jammu and Kashmir.
His remarks came amid his recent visit to the Valley, where he has been publicly highlighting reduced militancy, improved security, and increased tourism and investment as signs of transformed Kashmir.
