Leh, Mar 28: A government outreach programme under the “Jung sJabs” initiative was conducted at Liktsey village in Nyoma subdivision on Friday, aiming to improve access to public services and welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
The camp, held as part of the Administrative at Doorstep initiative, was chaired by Tashi Chhostak, Naib Tehsildar of Niabat Chumathang. It focused on strengthening public engagement, spreading awareness about government programmes, and ensuring timely delivery of essential services in remote areas.
Residents of Liktsey village were provided with a range of on-the-spot services during the programme, including Aadhaar registration and issuance of Revenue Certificates. Officials also disseminated information regarding various welfare schemes to facilitate greater enrolment and participation.
Multiple departments participated in the outreach effort, offering services and addressing public concerns directly. These included the departments of Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Medical, Agriculture, along with other line departments.
The camp witnessed active participation from local residents, who availed themselves of the services and interacted with officials regarding their grievances and entitlements. Authorities stated that such initiatives are intended to bridge gaps in service delivery and ensure that government schemes reach beneficiaries in remote and underserved regions.
The programme forms part of a broader administrative effort to take governance closer to the people, particularly in far-flung areas of the region.
