NEW DELHI, OCT 10: A Panama-flagged crude oil tanker, MT GEM NO. 2, carrying 22 Indian crew members, was reportedly targeted in a drone attack at Sharjah Anchorage on October 9, Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.
In a post on social media platform X, Sonowal confirmed that all 22 Indian seafarers aboard the vessel were reported to be safe following the incident.
The minister said the authorities were closely monitoring the situation and maintaining contact with the ship management company to ensure the safety and security of the crew.
He expressed relief over the well-being of the Indian sailors and said efforts were underway to monitor developments related to the incident.
