Udhampur, 26 Sept: MLA Chenani-Ghordi, Balwant Singh Mankotia, today kick-started the construction work and laid the foundation stone for the PMGSY-IV road from Jaganoo to Ser Chompal Nallah, Km 3rd to Neeli, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV), Batch-I (2026–2027).
The road project, with a total length of 2.317 kilometres and a sanctioned cost of ₹500.16 lakh, is expected to benefit approximately 508 residents of the area and significantly improve rural connectivity.
On the occasion, MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for their continued focus on rural infrastructure and connectivity, particularly in the remote and hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. He also conveyed his special thanks to MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Prime Minister’s Office, for his support and efforts towards the development of the region.
Mankotia stated that improved road connectivity is essential for the socio-economic development of rural areas. The project will facilitate smoother transportation, improve access to essential services and provide greater convenience to the local population.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the timely execution of development works and strengthening infrastructure across the Chenani-Ghordi constituency.
The commencement of construction work and laying of the foundation stone mark another important step towards improving road connectivity and fulfilling the developmental aspirations of the people of Jaganoo and adjoining areas.
