Kathua, Sep 11: Two persons were killed and three others injured in a tragic road accident at Sarthal Mode in Bani tehsil of Kathua district on Friday, officials said.
The accident occurred when a Baleno car met with a major mishap at Sarthal Mode, leaving five persons injured.
One of the victims, 29-year-old Monika, wife of Suveer Kotwal, died in the accident.
Later, 61-year-old Balwant Kotwal, who had sustained critical injuries, also succumbed while undergoing treatment.
The injured have been identified as Suveer Kotwal, Parshanta Kotwal and Vikram Singh. They were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
