Kargil : A fourth-semester student of the Department of Political Science at the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh has been selected to represent the Union Territory at the National Level Youth Parliament 2026–27, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from June 15 to 17.

Miss Zulikha Banoo secured her place at the national event following an outstanding performance at the State-Level Youth Parliament, where she emerged among the top participants. The selection was formally communicated by the State Director of MY Bharat Ladakh under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

Her participation in the National Youth Parliament is being viewed as a notable achievement for both the University of Ladakh and the Union Territory, providing a platform to showcase the region’s emerging youth leadership and engagement with democratic processes at the national level.

The Department of Political Science, Kargil Campus, congratulated the student on her selection, describing the achievement as a reflection of her academic commitment, dedication to public affairs, and understanding of democratic values. Faculty members noted that her accomplishment underscores the growing participation of Ladakhi youth in national forums focused on governance, leadership and civic engagement.

University authorities said her selection highlights the academic environment and leadership opportunities being fostered within the institution. By earning a place at the prestigious national forum, she will represent not only the University of Ladakh but also the aspirations and potential of young people from the region.

In-charge Administration, Kargil Campus, Dr. Mehboob Ali, expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Saket Kushwaha for his continued encouragement and vision towards promoting academic excellence and research within the university. He also congratulated Zulikha Banoo on her achievement and extended best wishes for her participation in the national event.

Faculty members of the Department of Political Science joined the campus administration in wishing her success as she prepares to represent the University of Ladakh and the Union Territory at the National Level Youth Parliament in the national capital.
