LEH: SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Leh, in collaboration with the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM), organised an awareness camp in the remote village of Tukla Phulak, around 200 kilometres from Leh town, to promote skill development, self-employment and social security schemes among rural residents.
The programme witnessed participation from Self-Help Group members, village youth, women, community representatives and local residents.
Addressing the gathering, SBI RSETI Director Prem Lal Bodh highlighted the role of entrepreneurship and vocational training in improving livelihoods and generating employment opportunities. He informed participants about free skill development programmes offered by the institute and encouraged youth and women to enrol in training courses.
He also explained various social security and financial inclusion schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana, besides other banking services available to rural households.
Block Programme Manager LRLM Dechen Chuskit briefed villagers on livelihood promotion initiatives being implemented under the mission. She outlined measures related to the formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups, financial assistance, credit linkage and capacity-building programmes.
The village Nambardar appreciated the outreach effort and said such programmes help bridge information gaps in remote areas by bringing developmental opportunities closer to local communities.
Participants interacted with officials and sought information on training programmes, entrepreneurship opportunities and government welfare schemes.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by SBI RSETI faculty member Sonam Chozang.
