In a proud and inspiring moment for the youth of Jammu, Karuna Nanda, a resident of Nanak Nagar and an MBA student currently pursuing her studies from CGC University, Mohali, launched her debut book “Startup From Small Town” at a prestigious event held at the University of Jammu.
The book was unveiled during the awareness programme titled “Viksit Bharat 2047: Vision for a Developed Nation”, organised at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, focusing on the theme “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life – Drug-Free India.” The event was jointly organised by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, and the Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu. On this occasion, the book was formally launched by distinguished dignitaries including Shri Nagendra Singh Jamwal (JKAS), Col. Dheeraj Singh Jamwal, Dr. Ajay Sharma (JKPS), Dr. Ripu Daman Parihar (Assistant Professor).
The presence of her parents, Sh. Manoj Nanda and Mrs. Sarita Nanda, added significance to the occasion as they witnessed and celebrated their daughter’s remarkable achievement.
“Startup From Small Town” delivers a strong and much-needed message that successful startups are not limited to metro cities or large investments. Through her book, Karuna Nanda highlights that with dedication, clarity of vision, and the ability to solve real-life problems, anyone can build a successful startup—even from a small town or village. The book includes practical steps, insightful examples, and a clear roadmap for aspiring entrepreneurs to begin their journey from scratch, using minimal resources.
