New Delhi, March 13: The Central Government has released ₹1,912.99 crore in extra financial help to five states and Jammu & Kashmir reeling from last year’s floods, flash floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and cyclone ‘Montha’.
A high-level committee led by Home Minister Amit Shah finalized the aid breakdown: Andhra Pradesh gets ₹341.48 crore, Chhattisgarh ₹15.70 crore, Gujarat ₹778.67 crore (the largest share), Himachal Pradesh ₹288.39 crore, Nagaland ₹158.41 crore, and J&K ₹330.34 crore.
This tops up funds already flowing through State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF)—with ₹20,735 crore to 28 states and ₹3,628.18 crore via National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) in 2025-26 alone. Mitigation efforts got ₹5,373.20 crore (SDMF) and ₹1,189.56 crore (NDMF).
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, we’re right there with states during crises, delivering full support for relief and recovery,” the government statement affirmed.
