NEW DELHI JAN11: A fresh audio message, purportedly from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar, has surfaced on social media, claiming his Pakistan-based terror group commands “thousands” of suicide bombers ready for deployment. The UN-designated terrorist asserts these fanatic recruits seek only “martyrdom” from Allah, rejecting worldly comforts like cars or visas, and warns that revealing their full numbers would spark global media uproar.
The clip emerges amid JeM’s recovery efforts following India’s Operation Sindoor strikes in May 2025, which demolished the group’s Bahawalpur headquarters and killed at least 10 of Azhar’s relatives and top aides. Defence sources dismiss it as a “hollow threat” and desperate bid to mask leadership losses, with pro-ISI accounts on Telegram and X amplifying it alongside Lashkar-e-Taiba propaganda. Azhar, unseen publicly since a 2019 blast, appears to operate from a Pakistani safe haven, prompting agencies to analyze the audio’s voice and metadata for sleeper cell threats.
