Srinagar, Dec 31: Two children lost their lives and another was critically injured after being hit by a tractor in Taad village of Karnah area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
An official said the incident involved a tractor bearing registration number JK09B 4871, driven by a local resident. “The injured children were immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital Tangdhar, where doctors declared two of them dead on arrival,” the official said.
The deceased were identified as Arzoo Bashir (7) and Azan Sajad Qureshi (8), both residents of Taad village. The injured child, Shahnaz Ahmad Mughal (9), is undergoing treatment and remains in a critical condition.
Police have reached the spot, launched an investigation, and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
