LEH: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has ordered the regular promotion of five Assistant Executive Engineers (Civil) to Executive Engineer (Civil), placing them in the Group ‘A’ Gazetted cadre of the Public Works (R&B) Department.
The decision follows recommendations of the Review Departmental Promotion Committee constituted under the Ladakh Administration Executive Engineer (Civil) Recruitment Rules, 2023, notified via S.O. 71 on September 13, 2023. The fresh order replaces an earlier notification issued on July 11, 2025.
Those elevated to Pay Level-11 (₹67,700–2,08,700) with retrospective effect from November 15, 2021, include Abdul Mutalib, Gh. Nabi Zargar (retired on August 31, 2024), Dorjay Gyatso, Skalzang Dorje (retired on August 31, 2025) and Sajjad Hussain Wazir (retired on September 30, 2023).
The administration has clarified that the regularization of these promotions will depend on the outcome of writ petitions currently before competent courts. Pay and allowances will be regulated under FR-22.
The order, issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, underscores the ongoing administrative push to strengthen the engineering cadre tasked with driving infrastructure works across the high-altitude region.
