Kargil, Aug 06: The Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh hosted an interactive session today with senior representatives from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), aimed at fostering academic engagement and promoting entrepreneurial development in the region.
Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General of EDII, alongside Dr. Amit Kumar Dwivedi, Professor and Director at EDII, and Project Officer Miss Padma Lhazes, engaged with faculty members to explore opportunities for collaboration and innovation-driven initiatives. The session focused on strategies to integrate entrepreneurship into academic frameworks and extend support for emerging startups.
Opening the event, the Incharge Administration welcomed the delegation and presented a brief overview of the campus’s academic evolution and its increasing emphasis on innovation. Acknowledging the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, he emphasized the University’s commitment to nurturing a culture of enterprise across Ladakh.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shukla outlined EDII’s efforts to support entrepreneurial ecosystems nationwide, with a renewed focus on remote and high-altitude regions like Ladakh. He announced that EDII has now established a presence at both Leh and Kargil campuses to provide localized support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Encouraging faculty to play a more active role, Dr. Dwivedi stressed the importance of guiding students toward entrepreneurial thinking and incorporating innovation into daily teaching practices. He underlined the potential of higher education institutions in shaping future business leaders from underserved areas.
Miss Lhazes shared insights into EDII’s recent outreach in Kargil, including the launch of community-based programs and future training sessions tailored for local youth and educators.
The event concluded with an open dialogue, where faculty members offered feedback and suggestions to enhance EDII’s initiatives, reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding entrepreneurial opportunities in Ladakh.
