Kargil/Leh, Jun 19: In a vibrant display of unity and wellness, the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh welcomed Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha on the third day of its ongoing weeklong Yoga Workshop. The event, organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports in collaboration with the Tribal Research Institute, continues to draw strong participation from students, faculty, and staff alike.
Prof. Kushwaha joined attendees on the mat as they engaged in traditional yoga postures under the guidance of expert Dr. Janardan Roy Pramanik. Participants practiced postures like Vajrasana, Mandukasana, Gomukhasana, and Vrikshasana, followed by calming breathing techniques such as Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati. The atmosphere reflected both energy and calm, as the collective embraced yoga’s blend of strength and serenity.
After the session, the Vice Chancellor interacted with attendees, praising their enthusiasm and the campus’s dedication to promoting well-being. He appreciated the commitment shown by the organizing team and acknowledged the role of yoga in nurturing both body and mind.
The University’s focus on holistic health extended to its Leh Campus, where a special session was held for research scholars. Led by Dr. Jigmet Deachen, the session encouraged participants to adopt yogic practices into their academic routines, offering a way to manage stress and improve focus.
In Phyang, the Girls Hostel also became a hub of activity on Day 3 of the countdown to International Yoga Week. Under the guidance of Mr. Lobsang from the Department of Physical Education, students practiced mindfulness and movement in a session designed to enhance overall well-being.
As the Yoga Week progresses, campuses across the University of Ladakh are uniting under a shared goal — fostering a culture of health, awareness, and inner balance that aligns with a broader national vision.
