Ramban, May 15: In an effort to promote physical fitness, mental resilience and holistic well-being among security personnel, the 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised the Jammu Sector Inter Group Centre and Battalion Yoga Competition 2026 at its Tactical Headquarters in Boom Ramban from May 12 to May 15.
Held under the aegis of Jammu Sector CRPF, the four-day event witnessed participation from 17 teams representing various battalions and Group Centres across the sector. The competition aimed at encouraging yoga as an integral part of daily life for personnel serving in demanding operational conditions.
Participants performed a range of yoga postures, pranayama exercises and synchronised group sequences under the supervision of trained yoga instructors. The event highlighted the growing acceptance of yoga within paramilitary forces as a practical method for stress management, improved concentration and overall physical conditioning.
Addressing the participants, Commandant of 84 Battalion CRPF, N. Ranbir Singh, underscored the role of yoga in enhancing both professional efficiency and personal well-being among troops deployed in high-pressure environments.
“Yoga is not merely a form of exercise; it is a path to inner strength, mental clarity and spiritual growth. Incorporating yoga into the daily regimen of CRPF personnel will go a long way in ensuring operational readiness, professional excellence and personal well-being,” he said.
Officials said the competition also served as a platform for fostering camaraderie, discipline and team spirit among personnel drawn from different formations of the Jammu Sector.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony during which winning teams and individual performers were felicitated with trophies, medals and certificates for their performances.
