Leh, Jul 3: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on Friday announced that 36 young people, including 34 girls, from across the Union Territory have been sent to New Delhi for employment-linked skill training at the GMR Varalakshmi Centre for Empowerment & Livelihoods.
The Lieutenant Governor said the selection of 34 girls reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering women through skill development. He noted that for most of the participants, it is their first time travelling outside Ladakh.
The initiative aims to equip the youth with market-oriented skills aligned with industry requirements while creating pathways for gainful employment in the organised sector.
The fully sponsored residential training programme includes assured placement assistance, enabling participants to build successful careers and contribute to Ladakh’s socio-economic development.
Expressing confidence in the initiative, the Lieutenant Governor said that a skilled, confident and self-reliant youth is the strongest foundation for a prosperous Ladakh.
He also appreciated GMR for its commitment to social development and wished all 36 participants success in their future careers.
