Srinagar, Nov 13: Authorities have detained around ten individuals, including three government employees, during overnight raids across south Kashmir as part of an expanding probe into a so-called “white collar terror” module, officials said on Wednesday.
The suspects were picked up from Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam districts following coordinated operations by police and security agencies. The intensified crackdown comes amid heightened security measures across the Valley after Monday’s blast in Delhi that claimed 13 lives.
According to officials, preliminary questioning has revealed that several of the detainees had travelled to Turkiye in the past year — a detail now under scrutiny for possible links to the module’s financial or logistical networks.
The latest detentions follow a series of arrests earlier this month when seven persons, including doctors, were taken into custody after the recovery of a large cache of explosives. Investigators have so far questioned over 200 individuals believed to be connected, directly or indirectly, to the network.
The “white collar terror” module is suspected of providing financial, logistical and ideological support to militant outfits through professional and administrative channels. It was initially exposed based on inputs from two overground workers arrested earlier this month, who reportedly disclosed details of the network’s operations and funding patterns.
Officials indicated that more arrests are likely as investigations progress and that agencies are examining possible cross-border and digital communication links used by the suspects. Security forces remain on alert across the Valley, with surveillance stepped up to trace the wider network allegedly aiding militant activities under civilian and institutional cover.
