SRINAGAR, July 22: The Cyber Police of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday issued a public advisory urging media organisations and citizens not to share or circulate photographs, videos, or any sensitive content related to the recent terror incident in Anantnag.
In an official statement, the Cyber Police said that the circulation of such material could obstruct ongoing investigations, compromise security operations, and pose a threat to public safety.
The police warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the advisory under the relevant provisions of law.
The advisory follows a similar appeal issued by Anantnag Police, which cautioned against the dissemination of operationally sensitive content, saying it could undermine national security and hinder law enforcement efforts.
The Cyber Police urged the public and media to act responsibly and cooperate with authorities to ensure the integrity of the investigation and ongoing security operations.
