Leh, May 22 : Director General of Police (DGP) Ladakh, Mukesh Singh, IPS, on Thursday underscored the importance of professionalism, discipline and public-oriented policing while presiding over the valedictory-cum-passing out parade of pre-promotional courses conducted at Police Training Centre (PTS) Stongsar.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of a 50-day training programme designed for various promotion cadres of Ladakh Police aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, leadership qualities and professional competence among police personnel.

A total of 115 police personnel from different units and wings of Ladakh Police underwent the training programme, including eight Assistant Sub Inspectors, five Head Constables, 18 Selection Grade Constables and 84 Constables.

Officials said the trainees underwent intensive indoor and outdoor training sessions at PTS Stongsar, Chuchot Leh, as part of preparations for higher responsibilities within the police force.

Indoor sessions were conducted by officers of Ladakh Police and officials from the Department of Prosecution, Ladakh, while outdoor drills and field exercises were supervised by trained drill instructors from the police department.

During the function, outstanding trainees and prize awardees were felicitated by the DGP in recognition of their performance during the course.

Addressing the gathering, Mukesh Singh appreciated the commitment and dedication displayed by the trainees and faculty members throughout the programme and stressed the need for continuous training and institutional capacity building in policing.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline, professionalism and public confidence in law enforcement while dealing with evolving policing challenges.

Earlier, the Principal of PTS Stongsar welcomed the dignitaries and spoke about the role of regular training programmes in enhancing policing standards and preparedness within the force.

The programme was attended by senior officers of Ladakh Police, officials from the civil administration, relatives of police personnel undergoing promotion and members of the media fraternity.
