Patna, May 7: In a major expansion of Bihar’s first BJP-led government, 32 leaders, including JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar, were sworn in as ministers on Thursday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The oath of office was administered by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain at a grand ceremony attended by several top BJP leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and BJP president Nitin Nabin.
The expanded cabinet includes representatives from all constituents of the five-party NDA alliance in the state.
Among the prominent inductees is Nishant Kumar, who recently entered the Rajya Sabha after Nitish Kumar stepped down as Chief Minister last month.
