Leh, April 29 : Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena received the Holy Relics of Tathagata Buddha with traditional honors as they arrived in Leh Tuesday, marking their first exposition in India from their preservation site.
Amid chants and prayers by Rinpoches and monks, the relics got a ceremonial Guard of Honour from Ladakh Police. The LG offered khataks and prayers for peace on behalf of Ladakhis.
“This rare occasion reaffirms Ladakh’s Buddhist roots,” the LG said, thanking PM Narendra Modi for selecting the region.
He urged devotees to join, embrace Buddha’s message of brotherhood and world peace.
