Anantnag, April 29 : Anantnag Police scored a major win against drug trafficking, arresting a suspect in Kokernag and seizing 4.4 kilograms of charas, underscoring their zero-tolerance drive.
A Police Station Kokernag team, conducting routine checks at Dodhkol Adhal Vailoo, stopped suspicious Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh (S/O Abdul Satar Sheikh, R/O Adhal). Traveling from Gadol to Adhal, he tried to flee upon spotting police.
A search uncovered the charas in a polythene bag. He was arrested on the spot.
Police registered FIR No. 36/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Kokernag station. Investigation aims to uncover links and supply sources.
