Leh, Apr 25: In a major relief for Ladakhi youth, Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena ordered immediate removal of restrictions barring government employees with graduate degrees—appointed on 10th/12th posts—from applying for graduate-level jobs.
Previously, such employees had to submit affidavits claiming only lower qualifications, making them ineligible for promotions. Saxena called this “unjustified and restrictive,” violating rights to seek appropriate employment.
The order sets aside Para 3 of OM dated 25.03.2026, allowing all serving candidates—including those with prior affidavits—to apply for higher posts, subject to other eligibility.
“This will benefit thousands in roles like MTS/Orderly, boost career progression in job-scarce Ladakh, and encourage youth uptake of entry-level posts,” the LG noted. He emphasized inclusive governance to address public concerns.
