New Delhi, Apr 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday honoured former Deputy Prime Minister and Dalit icon Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary, praising his lifelong fight for equality and social justice.
“I pay my humble tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji on his birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to the cause of equality and social justice. His invaluable contribution to the nation will always be remembered,” Modi posted.
The Bihar leader excelled in administration, notably as Union Defence Minister during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. He quit Congress in protest against the Emergency.
