Mumbai Feb 22: Right-wing leaders from Kshatriya Karni Sena have fired a bold ultimatum to Bollywood, telling producers and directors to brace for backlash if upcoming films dare to “hurt sentiments” or distort Sanatan Dharma – protests are already brewing against specific projects seen as disrespectful to Hindu traditions.
At a charged rally, Karni Sena chief Sukdev Singh Gogamedi declared their workers are “ready,” vowing no tolerance for cinematic liberties that tweak history or glorify controversial figures, much like their past showdowns over Padmaavat and Manikarnika. They demand pre-release screenings and outright bans on content deemed offensive, threatening theater disruptions if ignored.
Bollywood insiders worry this could spark a fresh wave of censorship fights, with BJP allies distancing themselves while Sena insists it’s about protecting cultural pride amid a string of films accused of agenda-pushing.
