Leh, Jan 23: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), under the Mission Shakti, Leh, organised a two-day workshop on Social, Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning for students of Igoo Village on Thursday.
The community-based educational programme was aimed at nurturing the all-round growth of children by focusing on emotional well-being, ethical conduct and social awareness. Students were introduced to concepts of self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, effective communication, leadership traits and ethical decision-making through structured learning modules.
Designed as an interactive exercise, the workshop encouraged active student participation through group discussions, hands-on activities and experiential learning methods. The approach helped students relate classroom learning to real-life situations, enabling better understanding and practical application of SEE principles.
The sessions were facilitated by Ms. Tsering Angmo, Resource Person from DIET Leh, who guided students through activity-based learning, reflective practices and collaborative exercises. Emphasis was laid on developing emotional resilience, confidence and responsible behaviour among young learners.
Students participated with enthusiasm, while members of the local community welcomed the initiative, acknowledging the need for such learning frameworks in shaping socially conscious and emotionally balanced individuals. The programme drew appreciation for addressing non-academic aspects of education that often remain overlooked, particularly in rural areas.
Officials associated with DHEW stated that similar initiatives would continue to be taken up to strengthen value-based education and support the holistic development of children across the district.
