Leh, Jul 28: Actor Sunny Deol recently met Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at a monastery in Leh, Ladakh.
The renowned Bollywood actor called it ‘a moment of deep honour’. Taking to his social media platform Instagram on Monday, Sunny said that they met while he was travelling in Ladakh.
Sunny could be seen bowing near the Dalai Lama who held his hand and touched it to his forehead. The actor was seen smiling. For his meeting, Sunny wore a black jacket and denims. He was greeted with a yellow shawl.
Sharing the picture on Instagram Sunny wrote, “A moment of deep honour and gratitude. Met His Holiness, The Dalai Lama during my journey through the serene landscapes of Ladakh. His presence, wisdom, and blessings filled my heart with peace. Truly unforgettable.”
The actor geo-tagged the location as Leh, Ladakh. Sunny has been sharing photos as he has been shooting across Himachal Pradesh too, for his upcoming film Border 2. A sequel to his 1997 blockbuster film Border, it also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Importantly, the other day, Czech Republic president Petr Pavel met Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in Ladakh.
This is for the first time that a sitting head of a state has visited India to meet his holiness Dalai Lama, who had reached Leh on July 12 on a month-long tour of the Union Territory.
“President Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama this morning in Leh, Ladakh, India.
During the meeting, the President extended his warm congratulations to His Holiness on the occasion of his 90th birthday,” the office of the spiritual leader posted on X.
The official handle run by the name of Dalai Lama also shared the picture of the meeting late tonight.
Meanwhile, the people in Leh will be blessed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with a two-day teaching session at Jive-Tsal, Choglamsar, on August 16 and 17, the Ladakh Buddhist Association announced.
After his stay in Zanskar of Kargil, where he blessed the audience with his teachings, the 14th Dalai Lama arrived safely in Leh on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, His Holiness proceeded to Shiwatsel Phodrang in Leh.
An announcement made by the Ladakh Buddhist Association later in the day, said that His Holiness has agreed to bless the devotees in Leh on August 16 and 17.
According to the Association, the spiritual gathering will culminate on August 17 with the conferring of the Long-Life Empowerment (Tsewang) by His Holiness, followed by a traditional lifelong offering (Tenjuk).
This offering will be made jointly by the Ladakh Buddhist Association, the All Ladakh Gonpa Association, and the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement.
