Vinod Kumar appointed DIG IRP Jammu, Sameer Sharma takes over Armed Wing
Jammu, Jul 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday ordered a comprehensive reshuffle in the police department, transferring several IPS and JKPS officers with immediate effect. The changes, aimed at administrative efficiency and optimal utilization of resources, were issued under Government Order No. 381-Home of 2025 by the Home Department.
In the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, Vinod Kumar (IPS, 2011), who was serving as DIG Armed Jammu, has been transferred and posted as DIG IRP Jammu. This posting fills an existing vacancy. Sameer Sharma (IPS, 2011), who was awaiting posting, has now been appointed as DIG Armed Jammu in place of Vinod Kumar.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) cadre has seen extensive transfers as well. Kulbir Singh (JKPS, 1999), SSP Ramban, has been transferred and posted as Director, Commando Training Centre, Lethpora. He takes over an available vacancy.
Randeep Kumar (JKPS, 1999), previously serving as SSP Security Headquarters, J&K, has now been posted as SSP PTWS Jammu. This also fills a vacant position.
Arun Gupta (JKPS, 2001), SSP SB CID Jammu, has been transferred and posted as SSP Ramban. He replaces Kulbir Singh.
Liaqat Ali (JKPS, 2001), SO to Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF, J&K, has been shifted and posted as SSP PTWS Kashmir. This move is to fill an existing vacancy.
Jameel Ahmad (JKPS, 2001), who is currently Principal STC Sheeri, has been assigned additional charge as Commandant IR-13. He will continue with his current duties while handling this added responsibility.
Mohd. Rafi Giri (JKPS, 2008), Dy. CO 2nd Border Battalion, has been transferred and posted as SO to Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF, J&K, in place of Liaqat Ali.
Sunil Kumar Kesar (JKPS, 2011), Addl. SP (Ops) Doda, has been transferred and posted as Dy. CO IR-15. This posting addresses a vacant position.
Zahid Aziz Samoon (JKPS, 2011), Dy. SP (Ops) Pulwama, has been transferred and posted as Dy. CO IR-17, again filling a vacancy in the department.
Devinder Singh Bandral (JKPS, 2012), Dy. CO IR-1, has been transferred and posted as Addl. SP (Ops) Doda. He replaces Sunil Kumar Kesar.
