Kargil, Jul 22: To ensure fairness to land donors and affected families while executing developmental projects, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon stressed that compensation should be given for the entire structure, even if it is only partially damaged.
The CEC said that the full value of the house must be recorded in official documents.
In this regard, Akhoon held a key meeting to review land compensation and infrastructure issues related to the NH-301 Kargil–Zanskar road project.
Officials from NHIDCL briefed the CEC on the progress of the roadwork, which is ongoing at various locations.
He also instructed the ADC, ACR, and SDM Sankoo to ensure the remaining compensation is disbursed quickly.
The CEC asked NHIDCL to monitor site engineers and workers closely to avoid misinformation. He also appreciated NHIDCL’s efforts in maintaining the quality of work and their commitment to the project.
Dr Akhoon announced that a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Kargil will be held soon to resolve remaining issues at some project sites. He also requested ED PRO Rajendra Prasad to visit the sites and review the progress in person.
The meeting was attended by ED PRO Ladakh Rajendra Prasad, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jahangeer Akhoon, SDM Sankoo, EXN SVD Sankoo, General Manager of NHIDCL, contractors from Top Line, and officials from the Revenue Department.
