Leh, Jul 17: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson held a follow-up meeting on the proposed establishment of the High-Altitude National Centre for Excellence (HANCE) in Leh. The meeting took place in his chamber on Thursday and focused on advancing the project aimed at boosting high-altitude sports training.
The session was attended by Executive Director of SAI Regional Centre Chandigarh, Manjushree Dayanand; OSD to the Sports Secretary, Dr. Stanzin Thakchos; and Incharge of SAI STC Kargil, Ghulam Mustafa.
Manjushree Dayanand informed the CEC that the detailed proposal for HANCE, as discussed previously, has been forwarded to the Operations Division at SAI Headquarters, New Delhi. Discussions also covered the operational costs and logistics required for the centre’s smooth functioning.
During the meeting, both the HANCE project and the proposal for the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) were endorsed, signifying a progressive step toward enhancing the sports infrastructure and nurturing athletic talent in Ladakh.
